I’m not sure if this has been covered, but the Hyper Blue replaces Tangerine Orange for 2016 on the Crosstrek. Less noteworthy is that Jasmine Green replaces Plasma Green on the Hybrid (I actually liked Plasma Green).
The

also gets redesigned wheels, front bumper, headlights, and grille. There are also a few interior trim changes. Also of note is the Crosstrek Sport Package (CR2), which adds an STI spoiler, STI shift knob, and the black STI 15 Spoke 17” wheels found on the BRZ series.blue.

At this point I’d be happy enough if they gave us the FB16 DIT found in the Levorg.

Now they just have to get rid of Desert Khaki.

It’s still such... So....blah.
What does the CR2 look like?

I don’t mind Desert Khaki. It reminds me a bit of Grace Beige from the ‘80s, which seems fitting some how.

It isn’t the most exciting car out there, but I appreciate it for what it is. I think this will be the GL wagon of its time.
A Subaru dealer from Boise posted a preview video of the CR2 on YouTube. I’ll be the first to say that I’m not really sold on the idea. I’m especially not sold on the idea that the package costs ~$1900.
I wasn’t a big fan of the 15 spoke STI wheels on the BRZ, and I think they work even less on the Crosstrek.

I think they should wait for the STi to be updated. Then put them both in.

I’ll agree that the wheels look weird but the wing looks great i think.
My wife and i drove a friend’s Crosstrek and were unimpressed. Maybe if i didn’t have a family and dogs I’d look at it different but i just see us not being able to use it for a long trip.
However, my friend’s crosstrek handled our south Dakota winters very well, i was impressed

What. The. Fuck. Subaru?!
You won’t put color matched mirrors on the HyperBlue BRZ, but it’s cool for the fucking Crosstrek?
__And__ you make HyperBlue a regular color on the entry SUV but it’s only a limited production for your damn sports cars?!
Gawd dammit.

I’m surprised they’re cutting Tangerine Orange. I see scads of them around, at least in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.

To be fair, Subaru did the exact same thing in 2013 with Tangerine Orange on the then new Crosstrek and the limited edition WRX and STI. I believe they had black mirrors, just like the Hyper Blue STI and BRZ.
At least this time the STI shares its mirror caps with the Crosstrek, so it should be easier to get color matched mirrors (assuming they come pre-painted, but I don't know).
That doesn't help the BRZ, however.

I guess Subaru felt it was time for a change. Hyper Blue is an interesting choice as a replacement, however.

No it does not. And since they only sell that blue as a special package, it only comes with the Alcantara seats. I want nothing to do with those. They might be perfectly fine for years, but everything I have read about them leads me to believe that they are needy seats and I would have to clean them constantly. No thanks. I love cars, but I have tons of other shit I need to do aside from keep my car clean all the time.

I’ve heard mixed things about alcantara. Subaru tends to use Ecsaine rather than alcantara, which seems to hold up better.
It is still more work than standard cloth or leather. The biggest cleaning difference is to use Woolite, and to blot not scrub.

Or just avoid them entirely. I will take the cloth ones, in fact that is what I am getting when I buy my BRZ.
